The Historic Arkansas Museum is celebrating the material and cultural heritage of Arkansas with its 6 galleries of artifacts and arts of Arkansas, Orientation Theater, interactive gallery of children, and a museum store with products of Arkansas and more.
The 4 original Little Rock dwellings on the grounds of the museum provide a professional tour guide setting describing the life on Arkansas frontier. Also, there are costumed Living History performers who portray the early Arkansas.
What to Know
The Territorial Arkansas is being preserved in this commended restoration of the 19th-century homes of Little Rock which includes the oldest building of the city – 1827 Hinderliter Tavern. You can meet characters that were from the past or perhaps see the historic grounds’ pioneer demonstrations.
This museum is one of the country’s greatest Bowie Knife collections, contemporary art gallery, children’s gallery; seasonal special events; Arkansas crafts store. The Arkansas Made Gallery showcases the works that are made in Arkansas.
