With a Neo-classical design, the Arkansas State Capitol was constructed about a century ago to serve as US capitol’s replica. Thus, this building was used as a stand in in plenty of movies. The capitol highlights granite from Arkansas, 3 chandeliers, and 6 bronze doors that were all crafted by the Tiffany’s of New York. Moreover, the capitol’s dome has a plated cupola made of 24-karat gold.
What to Know
Built sometime between 1899-1922, the capitol provided over a century of great service since the legislature has met its unfinished structure back in 1911. There are available audio or guided tours inside the capitol. Also, it is exciting to note that the test gardens of the capitol have 51 different kinds of roses.
